Benny's Pet Foundation
THANK YOU for your interest in supporting Benny's Pet Foundation.
Benny's Pet Foundation (BPF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. Our mission is to enhance animal welfare and promote responsible pet ownership and we do this here in the Central PA Community in which we live and work. We are dedicated to hosting Pet Adoption Events (Featuring Local Pet Rescues & Pet Related Vendors), as well as educate the public about general care of animals. In addition, BPF provides Grants to qualifying Veterinary Care Funds, Nonprofit Organizations and Nonprofit Rescues for Emergency Vet Care.
The following information will provide details about volunteer opportunities, as well as policies and procedures for volunteering with Benny's Pet Foundation.
Thank you for your help.
Benny's Pet Foundation Board of Directors
Duties will vary by fundraising event, but we always need help at our events and preparing for them. Tasks may include:
• solicitation of donations
• selling tickets
• collecting donations
• participating in the committee organizing the event
• setup or cleanup at events
• other hands-on duties at the event
Some duties can be performed while sitting, others require standing and possible light lifting (such as setup of tables & chairs).
Vaccine Clinic (Not Available at This Time)
Important Note for all clinic volunteers - we are not permitted to give veterinary advice or make recommendations to attendees. Questions should be directed to the veterinarian at the vaccine clinic.
Registration - handles distribution of registration form to clinic attendees - ensures one form per pet is completed. This person is generally standing during the clinic. May move between the line and the veterinarian to ask a question for the clinic customer.
Rabies Certificates - 1 to 2 persons will be completing necessary information on the rabies certificate. This person will be seated at the registration table.
Any certificates with an error are to be torn up and disposed of by clinic volunteers.
Do not give certificates to customers to complete.
Any certificates not used during the clinic must be returned to the veterinarian or their responsible staff member.
Cashier - Verifies registration form and collects payment. This person will be seated at the registration table.
Clinic Crowd Control – ensures the safety of the customers on the line, makes sure the line does not bunch up, and helps keep the flow of the line moving. This person is generally standing during the clinic.
Volunteer Policies and Procedures
Waiver & Emergency Contact
We ask volunteers to sign a waiver of liability and provide an emergency contact, with updated information as needed.
Hours & Attendance
We ask volunteers to commit to volunteering for at least one (1) event or shift in a six (6) month period to remain active.
Volunteers are asked to commit to an entire shift – most of our events are one shift of 3-4 hours, for longer events we offer shifts to keep the time commitment to about 3-4 hours or less. When a volunteer commits to a shift, we are counting on you to be able to perform that duty for the entire shift. If there are any concerns or difficulties in completing volunteer duties, please discuss with a Board Member.
