About Benny's Pet Foundation
Benny's Pet Foundation (BPF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. Our mission is to enhance animal welfare and promote responsible pet ownership and we do this here in the Central PA Community in which we live and work. We are dedicated to hosting Pet Adoption Events (Featuring Local Pet Rescues & Pet Related Vendors), as well as educate the public about general care of animals. In addition, BPF provides Grants to qualifying Veterinary Care Funds, Nonprofit Organizations and Nonprofit Rescues for Emergency Vet Care.

Our Board of Directors are all unpaid volunteers, and Benny’s Pet Foundation is entirely volunteer run with no paid staff. The foundation relies on private and corporate donations as well as fundraising activities.

Hi! My name is Benny! I was born in
November of 2006 and was rescued
from a local shelter and given a wonderful life with a loving family in February of 2007. When I was a young pup, I did the normal
puppy things, playing with my siblings, chewing on toys and getting into trouble. My first two years of life I spent being a dog and enjoying life with my family. However, they had more in store for me. In 2008, my family decided to open a pet store. They
went back and forth over what it should be named until they finally decided to name it after me, Benny. You probably heard
of it, “Benny’s Pet Depot!” I guess all of my begging and making sad puppy eyes paid off. We have fun at our store. My favorite part is that we are involved with the local rescue organizations. Our passion is animals, so we work extensively with local rescues to help the less fortunate animals in our community find their forever home. We host monthly Meet and Greets with local pet rescues. Every October we host Benny’s PawtoberFest – Pet Appreciation Day, which brings together many local rescues, pet related vendors and pet food suppliers. The best part is, because of our efforts, some of the homeless animals find their forever homes, just like I did! That makes my tail wag!!!
Sadly, there is a downside. I hear some pretty sad stories about animals and the urgent medical needs they have. I told my family we needed to do more! They were super excited about my idea. They discussed my thoughts with three of their
friends about starting a nonprofit to help the homeless animals in Central PA. That’s when Benny’s Pet Foundation was born!
Everyone just loved my idea! Everything BPF does is in the best interest of all my pet friends right here in Central PA. How great is that?! We get to help animals in need!
